Log a meal
Say it, snap it, search it or scan it. Four ways into the same log. Pick whichever is fastest for the meal in front of you.
Open the log
- On the Eat tab, tap Log a meal.
- Answer When did you eat? Now is the default. Earlier lets you set the time.
- Check the meal. VYTL picks breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack from the time and what you have already logged. Tap it to change it.
- If Your usuals around now appears, tap one to log it again in one tap. Otherwise, choose a method: Search, Describe, Scan or Photo.
By voice
- Tap Describe.
- Tap the mic and say what you ate, the way you would tell a friend. You can type instead. The words appear as you talk, and you can edit them before going on.
- Tap Break it down. VYTL turns your description into separate foods with estimated amounts and macros.
- Check each item. Change an amount, remove anything that's wrong, or add an item. Name the meal if it needs a better name, then save.
By photo
- Tap Photo, then Open camera, and photograph your plate. For a meal you ate earlier, Photo offers Upload photo so you can choose one from your library.
- VYTL reads the plate and lists what it finds, with estimated macros.
- Keep the items that are right, fix the rest, and save.
Estimates are a starting point
Describe and Photo use VYTL's AI to estimate what you ate. Check the amounts before you save. On Free, photo logs are limited to 1 a day, and Describe has its own daily limit. Pro has no daily limit on photo logs. When you reach a limit, VYTL shows the Pro offer. What each plan includes.
By search
- Tap Search and type a food. Your recent and favorite foods are there too.
- Pick the food, set the amount, and log it.
- Can't find it? Use Quick Add to enter calories and macros directly, or Create custom to save a food of your own for next time.
By barcode
- Tap Scan and point the camera at the barcode on the package.
- VYTL looks the product up and fills in its nutrition. Set the amount and log it.
- If the product isn't found, search for it or create a custom food.
Free includes 5 barcode scans a day. Pro has no daily limit.
After you log
The meal appears on the Eat tab and your totals for the day update. Nothing carries over into tomorrow. Go over on Tuesday, and Wednesday starts clean.
Prefer not to see calorie numbers? You then Settings then Units, theme, alerts, then Show calorie numbers. Choose full numbers, macros without a daily calorie count, or no calorie numbers at all.
