VYTL User guide V

How VYTL adapts

VYTL adjusts to what you actually do. Here is exactly what moves, what moves it, and what never does.

Food targets follow your training Free

Each day's calorie and macro targets start from the baseline set in setup, then move with the day you are having.

Training day
A planned workout raises today's targets.
Rest day
A planned rest day lowers them a little, within a cap.
Active day
When Apple Health shows extra active calories, targets rise to match. A quiet day never lowers them.
A bad night
Sleep, heart rate and how you feel never lower your targets.

Targets never drop below a minimum floor. And nothing carries over: go over on Tuesday, and Wednesday starts at full targets. There is no ledger to pay back. You can turn adaptation off and keep the same targets every day.

Sets start from your last ones Free

When you log an exercise, the weights start from what you lifted last time. In a VYTL plan, each set also has a target weight and rep range, set from your last working sets, how hard they felt, and that exercise's history.

A plan that waits for you Pro

Readiness reads your recovery Free

Your readiness score comes from sleep, heart rate variability and resting heart rate from Apple Health, your recent training, and your morning check-in. When a part has no data, it is left out rather than guessed. What readiness is built from.

VYTL Coach Pro

Ask VYTL Coach about training, food or recovery. Open it with the teal V at the top of Today. It reads your recent training and nutrition, and it keeps your conversation, so you don't have to start from the beginning each time.

VYTL Coach is not a doctor. For anything medical, talk to a clinician.

What VYTL won't do

VYTL doesn't promise outcomes, and it doesn't keep score against you. A missed day is information, not a failure. The plan keeps going, and so does the day's food, at full targets.
